Crab Loco Smokebox Number Plate_SOLD

Cast iron smokebox numberplate from LMS Hughes Crab 2-6-0 built at Horwich in 1929 and originally numbered 13116. The loco was allocated to Stourton, Saltley and Gorton 9G from where she was withdrawn on 03/10/1964 and cut up at Wards, Broughton Lane, Sheffield on 31/03/1965. The plate is a scares survivor and a wonderful example in original ex-loco condition, expressing the distressed condition steam locomotives were ending their working lives.
