LMS master station clock

This is a quality station clock originating from an LMS station ticket office, most likely located on the ticket office internal wall with the substantial fusee mechanism driving a slave dial positioned directly opposite on the station platform wall. The rear of the fusee mechanism retains the slave drive connection with a hole in the back box for the linkage system. Solid Teak case with dovetail construction and single piece turned dial surround. Hand painted John Walker dial and locking cast brass bezel with bevelled glass indicate a quality instrument.
The locking front access door carries an original LMS oval brass number plate ‘12304’ with old fixing hole evidence below suggesting the presence of an earlier LNWR rectangular enamel ID plate, possibly number ‘7667’. Original pendulum and winder both stamped with the clock number ‘7667’.
The recently serviced and cleaned mechanism runs well and keeps good time. Please view images for condition details.
