Billy Can

A delightful piece of social history a beautifully proportioned hand made Billy Can. Superbly constructed from thick gauge sheet steel with traditional soldered joints and a wonderful diamond shaped lid hinge with integral belt hook and carrying handle. We believe it could have belonged to a Coal Miner or perhaps a Railwayman produced c1900 and an essential piece of kit for the working class man. Very clearly stamped H R LEWIS on the lid with additional 48 MONTHERMER RD CARDIFF on the front face. H: 120mm W: 130mm D: 100mm
