Description

Founded in 1948 as Ashok Motors, then company was renamed Ashok Leyland in 1955 following a collaboration with British Leyland. Original metal vehicle emblems bearing names like "Tusker," "Cheetah," “Tourus” and "Viking" were affixed to commercial export and domestic vehicles produced by Leyland in the UK and Ashok Leyland in India.
