SE&CR 12inch drop dial clock

An attractive South Eastern & Chatham Railway 12inch drop dial clock in original un-restored condition, ex Hither Green. The original Walker dial is in good condition and displays ‘S.R.’ (Southern Railway) and clock number ‘1141 SE’. An original SE&CR brass number plate ‘1141’ is screwed to the case side door. The very original solid Oak case with dovetail construction is also nicely stamped to the top right hand corner ‘1141 SE’. The quality chain driven fusee mechanism has turned and tapered pillars and is stamped twice with ‘G&B’ (Grimshaw & Baxter) and SE&CR cartouches. Original pendulum stamped ‘1141’. The case is hand written to the rear face and internally, indicating the clock originates from The Lineman’s Depot, Signal & Telegraph Dept, Hither Green, Southern Railway.
