Description

Cuthbert Bradley 1861 – 1941, an English painter who worked as a sporting journalist for The Field and as a magazine illustrator for Vanity Fair. He also wrote books about foxhunting. His paintings depicted scenes of foxhunting and this delightful set are very scarce sculptural examples of his work.
Three painted sheet metal fox hound silhouettes mounted on timber stands. Each example shows a different hound, delicately shaped and beautifully painted to capture the individual animal personality with attractive life-like appearance. Two examples are painted both sides and all three are nicely titles and signed by the artist. One example has damage to the rear legs but otherwise the collection is in good condition.
